Upper Elementary
Our Upper Elementary classroom, the Lemongrass room, is made up of 9-12 year olds in 4th-6th grades. Although students at this age are still using concrete Montessori materials, they are much more focused on learning abstract concepts and engaging in debate, research, and exploring their community. These children are strongly engaged in their own fundraising endeavors, managing 100% of what they raise. These funds go toward their end-of-year trip which they plan, book, and organize themselves. Students in upper elementary have a great deal of independence and freedom as they move toward adolescence.
