Rainy Days!
Updated: Mar 30, 2021
It can't always be sunny so on days when it rains, we put on rain gear and head outside. Children have a natural love of puddles and exploring their physical limits. At WMS, we encourage this exploration.
Let the children be free: encourage them; let them run outside when it is raining; let them remove their shoes when they find a puddle of water, and when the grass of the meadows is damp with dew, let them run on it and trample it with their bare feet; let them rest peacefully when a tree invites them to sleep beneath it's shade; let them shout and laugh when the sun wakes them in the morning as it wakes every living creature that divides its day between waking and sleeping. -Maria Montessori

We take our commitment to offer kids a nature based education seriously. We work in the garden every day and we go outdoors in all kinds of weather. Children learn how to dress for the weather, feel connected to the seasons and the cycles of earth's changes, and to enjoy engaging all their senses as they play, work, and explore.
